Community health care providers partner to combat vaccine confusion

For immediate release

(Fort Wayne - Jan. 23, 2026) - Local health care providers are partnering to combat the confusion caused by recent childhood vaccine recommendations from U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) and the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC). The Allen County Department of Health, Fort Wayne Pediatrics, IU Health Medical Group, Lutheran Health Physicians, Parkview Health, Pediatric Associates Inc. and Super Shot Inc. have come together to create a public service announcement (PSA) encouraging parents to trust their local doctors when making vaccine decisions.

“Parents are confused, and we understand why. The federal government has recently made sweeping changes to the recommended childhood vaccine schedule. Few were based on new scientific data and may put children’s health at risk,” said Tony GiaQuinta MD, FAAP, and Parkview Physicians Group pediatrician and Super Shot medical director. “We hope this PSA encourages families to ask questions and seek out reliable, evidence-based guidance from people they know and trust.”

Each partner in the creation of the PSA intends to share the PSA on their own media platforms and there is a fundraising effort underway to support additional marketing efforts in NE Indiana.

“We must work locally to make sure parents have access to accurate vaccine information and continue to keep their children up to date on important vaccines. Vaccines are safe, effective, and the best way to protect your child’s health,” said Connie Heflin, Executive Director of Super Shot Inc.
