IDEM declares Air Quality Action Day for Tuesday, Aug. 5

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) forecast an Air Quality Action Day for the northeast region of the state, which includes Allen County.

The forecast is due to fine particulate matter levels expected to be in the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range.

Canadian wildfire smoke circulating in the region will be pulled into northern Indiana Tuesday. Fine Particulate monitor readings will increase as the plume of smoke moves across the region.

IDEM forecasted Air Quality Action Days indicate anticipated higher levels of ground-level ozone and fine particulate matter only. Other factors may affect overall air quality.
